Meta Launches A New WhatsApp Application For Personal Computers

On Wednesday, Meta announced the launch of a new application for its instant messaging service, WhatsApp, for Windows PCs, with a focus on speed and improved calls.

The American tech giant said in a post on its blog: “WhatsApp began as a mobile application, and these roots will remain as firm as ever.” She added, "But with millions of people using WhatsApp on computers and tablets, we are focused on further improving the messaging and calling experience across various devices."

“Today we are introducing a completely new application for WhatsApp on devices running the Windows operating system,” Meta said. It is available for download from here .

The company stated that the new application for computers running the Windows operating system is characterized by fast downloading, in addition to a design that includes a familiar interface for WhatsApp and Windows users.

Meta added that this application allows you to host group video calls with a maximum of 8 people and voice calls with up to 32 people. It said it will continue to work on increasing those numbers over time so that users can always stay in touch with friends, family and co-workers.

Meta indicated that WhatsApp is the largest platform that provides a fully encrypted experience between the two parties and allows communication at the level of different platforms between mobile phones, computers, tablets and much more. This means that messages, media, and personal calls are always end-to-end encrypted, across all devices.

Since introducing the new multi-device capabilities, the company has emphasized that it listens to feedback and makes improvements, such as: quick device linking and better syncing across devices, and has also introduced some new features, such as: link previews, and stickers.

As we continue to work on increasing the number of devices that support WhatsApp, the company has just released a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android tablets.

The company also plans to launch a new, faster app for Mac computers from Apple, which is currently in the early stages of beta. She said she is looking forward to making WhatsApp available to more devices in the future.

It is noteworthy that Wednesday's meta announcement, which focuses on computers, comes less than 24 hours after it announced the launch of a new tool in WhatsApp that increases the ability of moderators to control groups.
